I check my car pretty much every weekend. 30,000 miles for every oil change? Isn't that a little too much?

Since mine is hard daily driver, I try to change it every 3000 miles (oil and oil filter). The manual does say depending on the condition oil should be changed every 7500 miles or 6 months.
