is h22a swap easy in 1991 honda prelude si?

Yeah is this easy to do because i love this car to death and want to know if the swap is pretty easy to do with motor mounts and stuff instead of custom shit for my 89 lxi.

There are many complaints about the place racing mounts not fitting properly and stuff. What you end up doing is buying the mounts, seeing them not fit, mail them back to Place Racing, they fix them and mail them back... Why they don't fix them to begin with I don't know. Once you have the mount problem taken care of, the rest is easier.

    -1988 Honda Prelude custom
-1988 Honda Accord (to be fixed and sold)
    Soon:
    -some big 4x4 truck
    -91 Acura NSX

so this swap is easy in a 91 prelude? i thought only 92 and up could accept the swap without custom work. I like 91, because it has the boxy 3g look i love so much + its just a hella nice car when fixed up all nice.

well me for one, never heard anyone complaining about the Placeracing mounts. The only thing i heard was the whole car shaking at idling cause the darn mounts are solid urethane and its expected.

go to www.teaminterlude.com , they have a huge write up about the swap. ive seen the h22a in 89-91 ludes, as well as the 4th gen ones too. its defintely a really nice swap once its done. some guy was selling his 90 lude with a swap on ebay for $9000, you may want to see if you can find any more
86 white hatch LXi with 5spd swap and full system.

h22 is a drop in swap in a 4th gen as we all know. i have seen a 4g with a h22 swap hit 180mph on a dyno. and of course, it was a turbo H22.

After you have the mounts taken care of, the swap in a 3rd gen is also fairly easy from what I've heard. If I manage to ever get a better job, I'll probably end up doing it too.
