its worth while (IMO) if your running over 500w. It will make a significan't (and IMO noticable) difference over 500 or so but I wouldn't pay for one unless i go hardcore competition style

My spelling was never a streingth...

well thats one reason people use them but it also makes the amp's power supply stiffer and so it tightens up your bass and lets the amp put out more power at peak transients
