What to do, what to do

Hey guys, I was reffered to this site by honda-tech.

I recently aquired an 89 Ex-i. I'm not sure if they are equivalent in the states, but in canada its a fairly rare fuel injected model.

So far it's cost me ~150$ Can....and I'm really unsure what I should do, due to my limited 3rd gen experience.

    Problems:

Engine was leaking coolant from #2 cylender exhaust port and was blowing white. Soem radiator leak fix solved the problem, it doesnt blow white when its warmed up anymore.

Clutch is slipping like a mother....but its only got 60K kilometers on it.....I figgure its cause the car was parked 1 year and the plates rusted pretty bad.

Brakes are quasi non-existant.....using a brick as a parkbrake at the moment.

I have odd suspension noises....unsure if they are hitting bottom or not...the car passes the bounce test pretty good.

    Both cv boots are cracked

Rockers need a bit of welding

    Windsheild has a small crack

Main relay wont prime the fuel pump

    battery is shot

    Good stuff:

    The interior is allmost perfect.
    All of the electrical works

I guess my question is, what should I do? I'm in Ontario, and we have to pass a smog test before it can be plated. I dont know what to do. Should I fix the thing or get rid of it.

Its a shame, cause its a sexy car.

Is it a Coupe or A Sedan? If it's a Coupe.. Part it out and sell me a few things! If it's a Sedan then think about fixing it. Do you have the money for a Newer Car? Well either way is going cost you money.. Good Luck

Yes it's worth the work. Minor maintenance to the car and you will have a very reliable car. Search this site and you will see why.

    Rust is apparent...but not unnaceptable.

The interior is in mint condition....all electronics work.

My main beef is with the motor and clutch...and the damn cracked windsheild.

I hadnt though of parting it out

If you sell it, i want dibs!! I live in ontario, have a really good A20 motor but a rusted body.

Ohya ex-I's aren't THAT rare. Dime a dozen in this town.

sounds like your head gasket is blown. Needs clutch and mabe some front end susp. parts.

I dont wanna dump that money in the GSR, cause I NEED a beeter...there is no way the teg is touching snow.

As for the accord. It is rusty....but allot of it is in pretty decent condition.

Rockers have a few holes, for some reason, the light on the liscence plate rusted out.

Aside from that she`s in nice condition for a beeter.

The A20's head gasket WAS replaced by my buddy....donno if he did a good job of it tho.....but I dont see how a leaky head gasket would make coolant leak from the exhaust port. From what I know of heads, it should leak into the cylender and not directly from the port.

Where do you live in ontario? I'm in ottawa, I'm starting to consider parting it out.
