Brake Light problem?

I turn the key on and the brake lights are on with everything else turned off. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to fix this?

Sounds like wires are touching somewhere. A few things you could try are pulling fuse #4 in the underhood fusebox, do the lights still come on with the key on? Do you have cruise control? If so, remove fuse #4, underdash fusebox, see if that changes anything. Could unplug the brake switch, too.
Just some ideas to get started with till better info gets posted by another member.
