    POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTALLATION - PCV

What comve out of the top of the valve cover and connects to the drivers side of the airfilter box, is the PCV filter. It has two screws holding it to the side of the air box.

To check for leaks you need to remove the air filter box. There should be a how to in the topics labled as IMPORTANT

Check for cracks and or splitls like you mentioned but also check for over expanded hoses... or dried-out hoses.

Thanks for that A20A1, now today i opened up my air filter box and that PCV thats connected on the side of the air filter on the drivers side, in my case passenger side because "Australia" (steering wheel on the right). I noticed the section in the air box where that pcv part was connected to, it had oil and sand around it? is that bad? I disconnected that pcv on the side and looked in it and saw this black foam which looked pretty bad like it was all burnt.
Do i buy one of those crankcase filters? Is that what people use em for? And so if i got a crankcase filter do i just connect it to the hose that comes out of the valve cover, and what happens to the filter that connects to the side of the air filter? Do i seal it up?

you can buy this filter at any autoparts store. i don't know how it is in australia but here in US you can buy them cheap.
after you intall it, keep and eye on it. it is going to get dirty very fast. like soaked in oil, your PCV valve is not working right.

I'll show you a pic that has a breather filter in it (crankcase filter)

It's the smaller filter on the valve cover. (K&N if you're wondering)

You still have a filter on the A/S valve. why not remove the pipe, and plug the port on the header.

when I installed the header I had it patched before I installed it. I just haven't had time to remove all of that stuff on the manifold yet. Plus it just looks badass having 3 K&N filters j/k I have been too lazy and preoccupied with getting the car ready for the Ontario Meet on June 21st.

okay thanks guys, that pic was quite helpful as well very nice engine bay. I'll get one of those crankcase filters soon. In Australia they cost around $25 Aus, so it'll be around 12 dollars u.s so thats alright.
