    Tail lights

ok..i know that nobody makes clear tail lights for our cars, so im gonna make my own. Im just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what type of material to use. I read somewhere that people have used that plastic stuff that covers the flourescent (bad spelling) like in office buildings but im not sure where to get it. If you have any ideas and want to help out it would be appriciated. thanks

Ya I agree clears would look good. Painting is easy and cheap. Just buy your can of candy apple red transparent paint

i like the all white. though my q would be, how do you get the yellow(amber) and red? just get colored bulbs, or reflectors? you know the all whites look like they could be done if somebody was willing to take up the project. i have no electrical know how so it cant be me. i do have imagination though.

there's really no electrical know-ho needed there. It's just all plastic. This looks like a job for my handyman... Tim Yoak, or 87Hybrid.

I agree, even though I don't like those LX-i tails with the black on the bottom.

just me but, don't you think that palstic used for flourescent lights would be too brittle. Try some clear acrylic.

Clear acrylic usually can be wrapped around the outside. Fluorescent light panels is really only there for looks because it is cheap.

if you want them darker, can you just tint them? or is it best to black them out?

Clears really arent that hard. Use a heat gun and plexi glass.

Well you can get a heat gun at ace hardware or probably anywhere that sells paint. Like sherwin williams. All i did was heat up the stock tail light covers and they came off then just cut a piece of plexi big enough to cover it , formed it and used a dremel to cut what i needed. NOw as for glue, IMO, most clear glue dont really dry clear, so i used hot glue seals it up nice and then took like molding and put it around the light so it would cover the glue you could see. I got bubbles{small} in mine cause i was in a hurry but you really cant tell. Take your time and do it correct so you dont role around like me. Lol. As for the pictures ill take em if you post em blazin
