Front speaker installation on 88 lxi

Do I need to remove the door panel, or does the speaker grille just come off? Hows it work? Thanks

i have 6.5 in the front and they fit with no problem.
you will have to cut the back of the plastic holder.
6.5" speaker is better than 5.25".

I have the shallow depth pioneers in the front--they are 6.5" and they sound nice.

...then I'm the only one with 5.25"

these 6.5" Impact's didn't fit so i had to take smaller ones in the front

I had Infinity 552i's up front, big sound and no window problems. I think it has more to do with quality of the speaker construction than size. An Infinity 5.25 will blow a Pioneer 6.5 out of the water any day.

That may be true, but Pioneer is good boom for the buck. Compare it with Sony and Kenwood-- Pioneer blows them away.
