I bought mine already lowered and with exhaust, but the first thing I did was put a short ram intake on it and that helped A LOT. I guessed i got like 15 hp. The LX-i's have a pretty lame stock intake system and you free the motors breathing up quite a bit by putting an intake on. If you dont have exhaust, that will help too. If its totally stock, i'd lower it probably before i did anything.

    thats just my opinion

tint, lower, rims, paint tailights, get some fogs, and clear out your bumper lenses. Those are a good start....

    Started with a 89 Accord LXI - 96 Acura TL - 2003 Acura CL Type S..

Short ram, while an improvement, will NOT gain you 15hp. I've got one and i like it, but a Cold Air Intake would be a better bet.

I looked for a cold air and i couldnt find one that was made for the 3g (like most parts i want). What do you/others have for cold air? I SWEAR it was like 15 hp. before i got it i couldnt spin my tires out of 1st gear, and after that i was spinning into 2nd from a stop. It might not have been quite 15, but it was more then 5 for sure.

There isn't a CAI for our cars. You can get the '91 integra (someone correct me if I'm wrong!!) CAI and with some work it'll fit. Do a search for it here on the board.

I'd recommend just going straight for the CAI, then a cat-back exhaust system, headers, cam, performance cat, and all the ignition stuff.

But if you're going for looks first...LOWER IT. Our cars look hella good lowered. I'd lower mine, but no $$. Make sure you get good springs, and struts too...there's plenty of threads on lowering your car. Then rims, tint, paint the molding (or shave) and get a kit. If you're gonna get the kit, have enough money to paint it (or even the whole car) so it doesn't look like ass.

Have fun while you're at it though!!

For starters: Clean the hell out of it, give it a good waxing, steam clean engine, change oil if needed, give it a good tune up
For others: Rims, some kinda of good intake, drop a system in there...add, add, and then add performance where and when needed, TLC is the #1 thing you want to give to your 3 gee however.

That's got to be the cleanest living DX I've ever seen.

B-series swap for first major mod.
That's where I'm planning to start.
