Ok I read the how to on painting taillights red and I bought the proper paint and clear coat. Do I just paint on the outside clear cover, or do I take that off and paint inside of the taillight? It would be much easier if I just paint the outside cover, but I don't want it looking crappy. I was thinking the best method would be to put a few coats over the orange, then put a few more on the entire lens (except back-up light) then the clear coat. Does this sound right?

Paint on the outside. And yeah, the method is correct. Spray lots of clear on it.
