    rims.... o_O

can i ask you guys a q on rims? i've asked a bit around here (not lately) but i still don't know what kind to get. I was deciding on motegis but they are heavy (i think so-but im ignorant when it comes to car shit) so what kind of brands are good? i'm looking for the best bang fro my buck really. I don't care about flashy i just want high performance shit. and since 3rd gens are already heavy enough i want a tyte lookin, high quality, lightweight rim. any brands?

any insight is appreciated-- tanks! :pimp:

If you want performance and lightweight then I suggest Rota Slipstreams, or Circuit 8's...

TSW rims are definitely NOT lightweight, though they look mad tite y0 ...i know from experience and I love mine. Enkies are light and have some nice designs but Rotas are very sweet; get some of them.

15s would probably give you slighty better acceleration and a little bit smoother ride. 16s will trade that for slighty better handling (less sidewall to flex-->slightly quicker response). I wouldn't go any bigger than 16".

I have 16 inch Enkei CDR9's on the 3G right now, I use to have some 17's and I will NEVER go back. Get some 205/45-16's and you will not regret it. As far as names go -> Enkei, Konig, 5Zigen, Racing Hart.

I have 4 TSW Fury rims right now for sale

Course two are bent, but if you have a wheel shop nearby they can straighten them.

Hell if i had the money i'd consider buying those TSW's off you they look sweet ( i looked em up) how much per se would you say that would cost to straighten them out?

though the TSW are heavier- HOW MUCH heavier are they than some of the more lightweight ones? are we talking about a BIG difference performance wise in wieght? like if it were 5 lbs... would that mean that those 5 lbs significantly change the performance??

A weight difference of 5 pounds on each wheel is a big deal. A lighter wheel is easier to get spinning (better acceleration) and will follow the road better (easier for the spring and damper to keep on the road).

Yeah, my TSWs probably weight about 20lbs/each. They're heavy as hell and I could def. feel the difference switching from stock. But there's absolutely NO comparison through the twisties.

i would say go with some rotas, circuit 8s are sweet wheels. I would also say go with some 16s, i have 16 inch Konig Reigns which are kinda heavy, but the handling with them on is way better than the stockies

Ive been looking for rims and new tires for my car. Unfortunately with all the damn railroad crossings around here Im afraid to put any type of body kit on the car unless I can find a decent tire/wheel combo to keep me from bottoming out on the crossings. ANother thing I have noticed is that alot of the aftermarket rims have a 5 bolt lug pattern and not 4, is there a way I can retro fit my car to accept 5 lug rims? And will 15 inch rims give me enough ground clearance to clear the rail crossings?

rim size doesnt give you ground clearance... thats all in the suspension.. if you get 17 inch wheels, you get smaller tires to make up for the size difference.. where are you located? i have a nice set of wheels for sale with some almost brand new (500 miles) tires and they are 17 inch

Umm.. if you want light, get Weld wheels, they make some 17's that are like 11 lbs a piece.

Do you have to reset the speecometer gear if you get bigger tires? I know you have to do that with a 4x4 pickup if you up the tire size and wheel diameter so that you know exactly how fast your going if ya get pulled over LOL
