Cam swap??

ok people i gotta ask..is the cam from a 87dx the same as the cam from a 86 lxi.......
my friend is sellin his cam from the 87 dx for 30 bucks to me..i was going to get it regrinded by colt cams....but dont wanna take my cam out cuzz i need the car for daily driving

The carb cams have less lift or duration on the exhaust from the factory, I'll have to check in my books... Anyway, it's not the same. However, you can get it grinded to any spec you want.

so if i get the cam from my friend...and tell the guy at colt cams to grind it according to the specs of a lxi, it would work???

I wouldnt just get a l-xi factory spec grind,get something streetable but not too radical.

well thats the idea...get the dx cam and get it regrinded by colt cams as if they were gonna regrind the lxi cam
