    Distributor O-ring

    how hard is it this to do on a 89 Accord LX? Is there any FAQ I can get a walk threw to do it? Thank you in advance.

    its not hard, just scribe a line across the distributor flange and were it bolts to so you know what position you had it in. Then just unbolt it, and swap o rings, it should take you less than 15 min.

    Do you mean change it it is relatively easy just unscrew the 2 bolts on the distributer 3 if efi and pull it out take of the O ring and put it back reset the timing and you are done if you don't have a timing gun make marks on where the distributer was the realign it to the marks.

    Hey Mike, well you need a 10mm socket and a socket extention.

    It may help if you remove the cap from the distributor first... or at the least all the wires going to the distributor.

    Make sure the car is cold and remove the distributor... I'll put up a pic of the bolt locations in a second.

    I got an oversized o-ring from the hardware store cause the one I got from the auto store still disn't seal tight enough.

    if i have some oil inside the cap ! is this the o ring i need to
    change !

    If i have some shop do it how much would it cost? Thanks in advance. I know it doesn't look that hard, but I don't konw jack about timing, nor do i have access to any of the tools.
