    custom bracket for rear lowering

I just put on coilovers from a 88-2000 civic. They are pretty small so i can lower it a lot. Right now, in the back im sitting on my struts, there bottomed out. Now what im thinking is making a bracket for the bottom of the strut to relocate where it bolts in. Instead of the bottom bolting into the stock position, i am going
to make a backward Z shaped bracket kinda and bolt the top of the bracket to the stock spot, then bolt the strut in the bottom part of the bracket, therefore moving the strut down about an inch, so the strut wont bottom out, Any body think this is a bad idea, the strut will sit a little straighter than stock, but i dont think it will cause problems, anybody?

yeah, i just put it on, and it is hella low. It is soo low, i have 16's and my rim just about tucks, you can see no tire what so ever. Its waay to low. My tire is way beyond /, its about double that. So i have to modify it a little bit, it was about a 6 1/2 inch drop. I took them out because i cant drive like that. But it does work though. With it tha low, i still had play in my strut. It wasnt bottomed out. So im happy about that. Just too low
