I got a high level of Hydrocarbons (unburned fuel) pumpin out my car when i'm in idle... and kinda while in drive.... anyone know how i can fix that without having to go to a mechanic and getting a diagnostic? because they charge $90 just to see what's wrong with my car, and they justify that price by telling me the machine they use to test it costs $12,000.
the HC limit for driving is 160 and my car is pumpin out 159. and the HC limit for idle is 260 and i'm pushing out 375.
the only thing that i did to my car was flip the carb lid and take off the stock intake. i adjusted my air/fuel mixture because it had a hard time idling before.... i'm guess that's the reason for my high level of HC... i get one free retest before i have to pay another $15 so i want to try to fix anything and everything so that i can pass.
someone help! i need to pass emissions so i can buy new tabs. Thanks!
