    Urgent: need advice!!!

Ok.. my back left spring is squeaking like a squished mouse. It sounds very bad and i'm thinking my car will fall apart on the highway. Is it REALLY bad to have this? I'm calling some mechanics tomorrow to get quotes on replacing it

Reporting a noise of any kind is the hardest thing to give advice for when your not their to hear it yourself. But what could it be?
The first thing I'd suspect would be a bushing somewhere. I had a noise like your talking about. I even got under the car and pushed up on it from underneath to try and zero in on the noise better, that didn't work. It wasn't until I was replacing the struts and springs and I just happended to flop around one of the rear suspension arms. I could plainly hear my sway bar bushings making the noise. I wonder if you spring perches have the rubbber incerts like their surposed to have?

Hmm.. I don't really have the tools needed to jack my car up and get a good look so I'll probably just take it to the shop and see if they can find what's wrong. Its mainly loud creaking when the car goes over a bump (also happens when I push the back end of the car down).

Might be just a broken spring. I had that before.
Hopefully is not the arm/ball joint.

Is a broken spring easy to see by eye? I took a quick glance in and nothing seemed out of the ordinary

It's probably broken at the either end. But sometimes quite difficult to see plus the compression is still putting force onto it, hence not moving that much to see the broken part.

Well this is weird... I got up this morning, pushed down on the back of my car, and heard nothing. I had to pick up some stuff from canadian tire so I was out driving for around 30-40 mins and I heard nothing.. When I got home and parked I did notice some very slight creaking but not nearly as bad as I had noticed the other day. Is it safe to leave it this way for around a month or so? I'm still saving for my winter car and it'll take a couple paychecks.

    Just check the ball joints.
I wouldn't worry if it's from the spring or strut assemblies.

my car makes noise like that sometimes. i noticed it after i lowered it and some stuff got moved. it might just be your ball joint. i don't think that the squeak is anything to really worry over.

when i took out my springs one of them was broken way up that the top, and i was told it was nothing to worry about. if the break was like in the middle, that would be something to worry about.

Are the fronts suppose to have a rubber insert too for the bottom?

Because my front is squeaking like mad-
Everytime I go over a speed bump or a dip-Its getting more frequent now.

    HELP!!!

I sprayed most of the bushings and still squeaking-

Can a bad strut squeak like that?

wut do u mean u cant jack it up and take a look? u cant atleast use your jack the car came with and take the wheel off? just wondering. my friends car has that wierd squeak, but its cuz he lowered his car by cutting the springs. wont do that to mine. first thing i thought was it might be a bushing, maybe needs grease or replacement if thats wut it is. hope its not your ball joints.

Just ruling out any possibilites for the cause of the squeaking. (on top of that since the shop forgot to install the rubber insert in the back when it was lowered -maybe the front too had a rubber insert-I did not know never had a reason to check that out)
Now I know its not the cause of the squeak-thanks

    Still spraying and waiting. LOL
