    K&N airfilter

    can i wash it in water or do i have to get the filter charger kit?

    water doesn't clean off OIL man, you need the kit.

    i wonder if one could use alternate stuff to clean K&N? carb cleaner seems suitable to me

    You will only get the best performance outta ur K&N if u use the recharger kit. That kit should last u a long time though. It has the oil and the cleaner in it. Also some degreasers and contact cleaner might eat the filter....you wouldn't want that would you???

    Yeah, the filter is made of a cloth-like material so some degreasers will degrade that, your best bet is the recharger kit, its only like 10 bucks and you only have to use it every 60,000 miles (so it says)
