    I am getting a 4th gen Prelude.

Hey ya'll, I am going to see this 1992 Honda Prelude Si for $1300. Has right front damage but runs and drives well. It has 142,000 on it. It is silver with blue interior, and has sunroof and all power (except seats and rear view mirror etc.). It is also the 2.3L H23A motor with a 5 speed manual tranny, it pushes 165Hp. Sound good? I will still be keeping the 88 Honda Accord LX-i though!

That sounds like a steal if the car actually runs. Is the damage just to the body or is anything under the hood damaged? My roomie has a 93 si and he can keep up with my other roomies 96 vtec...of course the vtec still wins in the end but still a pretty quick car.

Not sure yet how far the extent is, but the 92 Si has the 2.3L PGM-Fi H23A, I heard it can be modded into a Vtec- not sure, the describtion for the car says good motor.

Well you can put a VTEC head on it from a 2.2 but that isnt a reliable set up from what I have heard. The big ol 2.3 is a good engine though. If the motor is good then 1300 sounds like a very good price cause the engine alone could be worth that if the miles arent too high and it runs well.

The H23a pulls better at lower rpms than the H22a. If you don't care to rev the snot out of a motor to engage the H22's vtec, the H23 is a more pleasing motor. Yes the H22 will beat it with revs and vtec and is of course faster. The H23 has one of the best power curves honda has ever put out in a 4 cylinder motor. To bad the H23 suffers from the "next to no aftermarket" curse. H22 has a ton of support.
