Wassup 3Gz,

How much air should you put in stock tires 185/70/13 to have your accord running good. I've noticed a difference in the way my car drives now. I used to put 35psi in my stock tires and my car ran heavy. Now, I've been putting 30psi in my tires and my car is running like its on air. It rides good and picks up good too. I'm just curious to find out what do you guys put in your stock tires. Also, is it true that the heavier the tires are, the more you may have problems with axles, tie rods, ball joints, etc....

There are going to be as many answers to this as there are respondents. I used to use the maximum printed on the tire (usually 35). The car rode really hard and the tires wore out rapidly. Following NTB's recommendation I use the pressure printed on the door jamb sticker (26) and they ride better and last longer. A lot of it has to do with the maximum load the tire can handle. If you multiply that by four (four tires - duh!) and divide your car's weight into it you can estimate what pressure you should be using. In my case, with a 35 psi max tire, it works out to right at 26. I guess Honda knew something when they made that recommendation.

I used to put 28 all the way around, but now it is 30 al the way around. i get better gas mileage.

It's hard for me to tell about the gas mileage because I switched to primarily in town driving right at the time our area switched to reformulated gas so it was a double whammy against the gas mileage.

Yea i run in the mid 30s for tire pressure, and i notice a little increase in handling and mileage. It does make the ride suffer a little tho

i ran 28 and now i run 30 ! better gas milage ride less comfortable !but that's barely noticable !

I put 42 psi in my 205/40/r17's and I love it. but when I had stock tires and wheels I ran 35-38.

I ran 25PSI to get some better handeling.

you would get worse handling with 25 PSI.....

and it is true that the heavier your wheels and tires, the harder it is on the drive train.. thats why i wanna sell my wheels and tires and get some light weight 15's or 16's

Too much tire pressure or too low tire pressure will cause tire wear. Tire will wear out about 2 times faster.
When tire gets hot, the pressure will rise about 2-3psi.
Plus not to mention too much presusre may explode the tire, and too low pressure will blow the tire out.
I think there is a reason HONDA engineers decided on 28psi for cold tire.
