    Good afternoon,
I came across your product while researching a project for placing a PC system in my vehicle and want to know how much each 12v unit runs and where can I purchase one. Also can they be safely combined in parallel to support 300 watts?
    Thank you.
    Eric

its expensive, but worth it. if your going to do it the right way that power supply is the way to go. POS Carb, are you working on an Accord PC?

yea I even have the name picked out, hope to have it set up in at least one of the cars by this summer (depends on my job and priorities). I want to put it in the Accord but I dunno, it's kinda cramped as it is and I don't want to feed a good resolution image to a puny 7" LCD radio so unless I come up with an idea for mounting a big screen in my car it's going to go in the Mustang.
that power supply is the shit though, it's how you do it right... I wonder how it hooks up though. I just took apart a Sony VAIO PC in my house, an old 233mhz model (the shit back in the day :lol) and the power supply hooks up to the motherboard and I can't figure out how to make the power supply turn on (it has no switch, the on/off signal travels through the motherboard and I tried following the circuit but it's too confusing. I hope modern computers aren't like this or I'll have to go to plan "B" which is more expensive but hella cool.
Don't want to spill the beans yet, too many people go "im going to get..." and they don't *shrug*

i suggest you check out mini-itx.com theres all sorts of crazy small computers on there. also if you go the the projects section you can read about this kid who documented all the stuff he did about putting a PC for navigation in his car. also check out mp3car.com ive looked into making a car pc, but i think i would like a newer car before taking on a project like this. good luck

    I have a laptop

$400 for a PII 450 and it does the trick, no need for messy integration.

I'd just like to crank up my car and hear a computer system booting up and a voice-over greeting. "All systems online."
