    weights ??

    anyone know how much a carb motor weighs, and also how much is a 5 speed? thanks

    The 5-speed feels like it's around 70-80 pounds.

    i would say 440 for an FI, 455 maybe for carb? im not really sure but they are cast iron

    they arent too heavy... me and my dad lifted one out of a prelude and it was a snap... just tied some planks to the top and lifted up

    yah... we have iron blocks.. thats why these engines are sooo bullitproof.. im at 400 000 kms and i still run fine

    yeah they are cast iron, and quite a bit heavier than the newer blocks. For instance, i literally picked up a complete d16 short block a few months ago, and it was heavy but also aluminum... Thered be no way i could lift it if it was cast iron. From what I see, the cast iron blocks last longer and are more durable than aluminum block with steel liners.

    i don't know bout that. i don't want to get a big argument going, but i still have my 86 crx. it has 194,000 miles on it and a few miles back i had done a head job on it. when i removed the head and examined the cylinders i noticed the factory hone marks still viable and not much of a ridge at the top of the cylinder. but this accords only got 60,000 some odd miles on it, so we'll see what happens
