Hi Rev and guage face question

Ok, I know the A20A1 can spin to(at least) 8300, because I took my 89 Accord sedan DX that I used to have past tach numbers many times. The physical rev limit may be 9000+ R/MIN. So my questions. Since there are no fuel maps to play with, how could an A20A1 get enough fuel at 8500 to make power? And a Nissan non turbo SR20DE has a redline of 7500, and is a 2.0 as is the Accord, so wouldnt the intake cam(more aggressive of the 2) fit the A20 head ?(guessing the cylinders have near the same space between)
Think: a reground SR20 intake cam could make peak at 8000+, add high RPM fuel delivery, head flow work, and a FAST carb that can rev as Hondas are supposed to.

Guage faces. Could somone make a tach face that looks factory, and has redline at 8300, and max at 9000?

I know about that site. You idiot, what HONDA non VTEC cam can rev that high? None that will fit. A VTEC cam has too many lobes, and definitely will not line up, genius. I remember people on here not being asses. I need the A20A1 to rev high and be quick until a B16A is used. You are acting like the 92+ Civic peolpe at AF.

If the stock accord cam is good for 5800, the maximum regrind may up that by 1500. Start with a higher cam, end with higher R/MIN. And stop being a brand nazi, Nissan has better engines than Honda anyway, Hondas, for the most part just look better.

5800? The redline is higher than that! I have no issues revving to 6500 with my Openloop cam (although it can prolly go much higher). I wouldn't mind taking my redline up a few grand. 9000 would be divine for me I am definitely willing to dump the cash into an A20A3 to rev to 9K.

The A20 can rev past 8000, I ve done it, 5800 is peak power.

And that other punk. A cam for a OHC 2.0 4 banger, is much more similar to each other, than a 750 cfm and OHV cam on the same car.

Suuuuuuuuuure. And its making mad power there d00d!

That red line on the tach is only there so you don't unleash the armageddon hidden in the A20A

You are a fool as well. I had a DX, which means no rev limiter. Did I not say that 5800 is peak? but physically it was able to go past the "8" on the tach. why dont you read first, you must have ADD.

oh yah! and you must have been in neutral cause the fuel pump gets cut at 6500 and there isnt enuff fuel in the float bowl to support the engine to 8300 RPM...

    nice try tho

Yeah, and mostly morons take it up to that high RPMs on a regular basis... that's just begging for a fried engine.

I dont about your Accords, but I could do 8000+, granted it was just noise, but I could. And there definetely isnt enough fuel, but in a carb car, it will spin as high as you want it.

IVe only gotten mine to 6200 rpm before. And as far as the Nissan cam interchanging, unless you plan on having the cam journals ground to fit the A20 head, your kinda SOL.

I can too, but what's the point? The redline is there for a reason--the engine simply isn't capable of handling that high RPM for a long period of time. I value my engine, though it is ready for a rebuild with 230,000 miles on it. I can still do 120+mph in it and beat many stock 3g's off the line.

How odd, my car can never go to redline if I floor it it'll get awfully close but never hit it, at least when its in gear, Ive never actually tried it in neutral or anything.

It WILL rev up to 8000 without problem in neutral. I've gone near 7000 once when my car was carbed.

However, you're really lucky not to bend some valves if you reach 8000.

The A20A head will not flow enough to let air in at those rpm levels.

What's up with people that want to rev their cars up to 10 grand these days. the A20A wasn't meant to rev past 6250 in stock form.

Ever heard of a power curve?

Oh, BTW, a cam that was designed to push on 8 valves will have a little trouble to push 12

am i missing something here? why would you want to rev your car to 8 grand if it gives you NO MORE POWER?! If you want to be loud by a lawnmower
