    Question Donor Cam

ok, well im ready to do some stuff to my engine. besides the bolt on crap that doesnt add much power. ok well theres not much they sell for an A20 engine. anyway, for starts, i think i want to get a cam. realy its a regrind which isnt too bad. i guess its going to cost from $160-$295. it should be $160 with the core exchange. what i was wondering was, are all A20 code engines having the same cam shaft? like a DX and LX will have the same as the LX-I or SE-I? i have to send it off and i still want to be able to drive my car. i wanted to get one from a wrecked car to send. i dont realy know nothing about the cam as for sizes through the 4 years of the accords engine. im guessing it was actually the same. and if they are different, but can be used in what ever engine, carbed or FI, which one would add most power. i dont thing they are different, but i dont wanna make any mistakes.

Delta seems good for the money but I personally like colt better (it is the numbers on the grinds) But it seems up to you.

this thread has info on colt vs delta and I believe the 272 grind starts at about 1500 and the triflow colt design is about 3K it also should give about a 10% increase in power.

well, a while back, some people on here told me not to go with Gude. as for those cams, i will have to be decide on delta or colt. well delta promptly responded to my inquiry about their stuff. colt hasnt e-mailed or called. yall said delta was cheaper priced. i think im gonna go with delta. i guess its going to be around $60 for the cam. then i can get it installed for under $100 probley. i hope. i would do that when i get the tune up. ill have to ask that guy how much to install the cam. my car will hopefully get better fuel mileage. with more power, i wont need to push the gas so hard right? and to top off a new cam, i also wanted to get a new carb. maybe the weber? isnt that a good one. i hope that will fit up to my automatic cuz sometimes u need to modify it to work.

i would like to do this myself, but i dont wanna fubar my engine. im going to call around before i make a final decision. this guy who can install it for cheap did other stuff to my car. but come to think of it, when he replaced the power steering rack, well it actually dosent work anymore. so that he fucked up. also my brakes. after he replaced the front stuff, those warped and fucked up. maybe i should get someone else to do this, so not to fubar the engine. right? i will probley get an engine shop or my uncle who works on hondas to do it.

I would imagine they are less as the triflow design uses a slightly wilder cam rofile and has special offset intake lobes that give extra power.

I left the red highlighter on the regrind companies names so it will be easier to spot them. but the thread in the link above has a good deal of info about the different regrind companies.
