    system upgrade

A little while ago I caught the audio bug and just replaced the stock system with whatever I could. I put jensen 6-1/2's in the front (still sound decent), old 6 X 9's in the back (blew in one month and removed), a pioneer HU, and a cheap used 200w optimus amp powering two 10 inch jensens(450 rms a piece) in a huge dual bandpass box. I am just sick of the poor quality of the highly distorted sounding subs. I already know I want to replace them with a single twelve in a small sealed box. The question is what sub would be the best choice if the most I want to spend is around $100 on it. I am thinking about a visonic for $56.95. Are there any other decent(meaning crisp sq, and something that will last longer then a jensen) subs in this price range? I am also looking for a sub with a rms around 350 to 550 watts. I am not sure what amp will replace the optimus but I have been eyeing up a nearly new 550 or 500 watt rockford fosgate for $149.

I paid $119CAD for the new sony 12" sub 1200watts (350rms) I paid $5 for 24"x48" MDF (1/2") and built a 1.0^3ft box with angled baffle. Its hooked up to a cheap 200watt rms amp and it POUNDS!! really really hard!

check out my cardomain link to see a pic of my trunk setup (bottom of page 1)

    all for $124CAD

www.adireaudio.com ... go to mobile audio, then Shiva

www.edesignaudio.com ... go to subs, then the K series

A bit more than you want to spend, but these companies have subs that will kick the crap out of Sony or Rockford any day of the week.

i think u can get a JL audio dub 2 for like 100-150 usd. i used to have two of them with a 400 watt mtx amp and they sounded as good as the 15's i have now. they have a real nice low bass.
