can i swap an engine and trans from an 87 to an 89 accord

so i have these two cars. an 87 accord with a rusted through frame, a running engine and a 5-speed with a clutch that only has 1k on it.

the other car. an 89 with a blown engine, working trans although on its way out. power options and a good frame

i want to pull the whole engine and trans from the 87 and put it in the 89 can i do it?
do i need to swap the ecu's too?

Just swap the motor and tranny and keep the 89 ecu and intake system and it will work fine. (i'm 99% sure of this but somebody correct me if i'm wrong).

It should work. You might run into a samll electrical problem or something but it would be an easy fix. If I had an 89 manual I could tell you for sure on any diferences.

okay, well im gonna buy the 2nd car tomorrow morning, and get the other towed to the lot where im gonna do some work. ill post pics if i need some help.
