    Black smoke

alright people....I know that my car runs rich and yesterday I told my friend to look at my exhaust and see if smoke came out....well around after 4000 rpms my car throws black smoke and then comin back down to around 4000 rpms it throws outa little bit again...it dont throw smoke in regular drivin.....My dad said its most likely cuzz my injectors are over flowin...cuzz they are too old....so i might just go down to the junkyard to pick up some used ones that work better for 80...
I wanted to ask you all that what other problem could it be instead of it being injectors...cuzz usually black smoke is cuzz of the fuel mixture right??

well richness does cause black smoke... but if you don't burn the mixture properly you get black smoke as well.

You can do some general maintainance, throw on some TB clener, check the plugs... stuff like that.

Try taking off your egr and clean it up and then put it back on. I was getting a code 12 and my car was having trouble ideling and I cleaned the egr and the problem went away.
I'm your local R&D nut. Fabracting, welding, tuning and breaking my stuff so you don't have to.
