Cool need an opinion, whats the coolest color paint for my used set of rims

i bought a used lightweight set of 15" white 6 spoke rims, they look pretty rough right now but should look good on my 3gen accord when i get done with em. i plan on painting them and havent decided on what color to go with. i dont like the white colored rims with the gold color of my accord.

everyone please give me your opinions, thx!

spdboy bought a maroon powder coated manifold cover from a guy off ebay for $1. this same guy is starting a powdercoating business out of his own garage and told us that is what he would charge. i thought it sounded like a good price too.

my decision im trying to make is...

    1. spend $80 on a nice powdercoat job?

    or

    2. or buy the 8 cans of gunmetal grey at the dollar store and try to do it myself? i have a good amount of experience painting things but not with rims. after the sanding, priming, and painting is over, what is the best stuff to spray for a top coat to protect the paint? anyone have any advice for me?? would appreciate it a lot, thx

they make coatings for wheels...in autozone they are all right next to the wheel specific paints and such...i think i may do that to my LXI rims just cause they are boring...tho id rather get some spoked ones..i dunno depends on what colour i paint my car finally

since your car is the light gold or seattle silver, go with gunmetal. that combo will look the best in the end. when i redid my stock hubs i painted them with the stuff from autozone and topped them with 2-3 coats of clearcoat. they turned out pretty nice. If you can get powdercoating for 20 a wheel, get it. just my $.02

I like the bronze color. It looks good on most cars. Not sure how it would look on the goldish color. My g/f has a 91 champaigne/gold accord and we're getting bronze powercoated wheels for hers and it should look pretty tight. just my $.02. Kinda late though since you already painted them........

good point, they'd be almost double for that shipping, the rims you have arent too much diff looking from the Prelude rims i have, they should look great in bronze, just curious what are you paying per wheel for the powdercoating?

i went with spdboy to pick up a powder coated manifold cover for his 3.1 cavey he picked up off ebay for $1 , it turns out that this guy he bought it off of just recently made his garage into his own powder coating business. he says hell do a set of rims for $80.

sounds like a great price right?

it turns out spdboy was cleaning the powder coated manifold cover with a little de-greaser and it took a bunch of paint off it... i don't know but, shouldn't powder coating be able to stand up to a little drgreaser??
