Yea, its one of the electric ones of ebay. I need to get another digital camera when I get my taxes back so I can get some pictures of my engine, my old camera died on me. I am really short on money at the moment and I am not sure whats going to happen with my job, all I was told is that there are going to be a lot of changes. And last time they said that 5 people were laid off. Keepin my fingers crossed.

I really like the look of chaosraser's 88, as for the 15 second 1/4 mile, i don't know. More importently what is in johnny O's 87. Is it even possible to get that much power out of a a20a no matter how much you spend? I aways thought that are cars were to heavy and a20a was kinda limited to get into those kind of times. is it a swap of some kind or do you have to rebuild it every 5 runs?

It is a track only car. The main thing he changes is axles and yes he still has the a20 I know I read somewhere that he was running 45 psi. It is not that hard to make big power out of a a20 it just takes time and money. The hard thing is makeing it run 10's yes. I also rember that he has lightend his car down to 1800lbs. I will be in 12's daily driven full metal jacket and interior this summer.

those are pretty good times for an LXI. Work on you launching and youll be faster, 2.5 60ft is kinda shitty, Air down your tires to 17psi and do a big fatty burnout thru the water. Ive gotten 2.3 60fts doing that when i was N/A, and thatll bring your et down from there. With a good launch you could maybe hit a 15.5 or so

yeah i got 2.3 second 60 foot times with 185/70/13 toyo 800 ultras on my car!

i wouldnt bother with a burnout if your not running slicks, but i would definetly lower your tire pressure.. you definetly have some room for improvement there, otherwise thats a pretty quick time! so congrats!

mixed brand and size tires worn to shit . No launch, Clutch slipping all of 2nd and alittle in third. Track at 2710 feet above sea level. Probbaly about 90 degrees out side. On about 6-7 psi of boost. Coolant spraying out everywhere from a bad heater hose that i didnt know about till right after the race and noticed a puddle and water everywhere under neath the hood. Full interior/ spare tire/ jack/ tools/ etc. Not tuned other then by me. Ran a 14.81 at 94 mph. Hoping with about 10psi, drag radials, and a good clutch 13s.

Re: King of the Track - 1/4 mile times!

i went to the ice skating rink called pmi (elev. 4900') yesterday to get some base lines before winter and it really sucks.
i looked like john force doing a burn out 1/4 way up the track.
roasted the tires in 1st 2nd and 1/2 way through 3rd.
the first run i rolled through the beam and then the flippin newbie cut me off at the end of the track.
    4.793-60'
    10.115-330'
    14.000-1/8
    65.65-mph
    17.099-1000
    19.630-1/4
    50.84-mph
second run was a little bit better peddeling the clutch and gas at the start with a shit load of tire spin in first and second..(at 9.1 psi.)
    .875-r/t
    2.922-60'
    7.262-330'
    10.671-1/8
    72.60-mph
    13.570-1000'
    16.032-1/4
    90.44-mph
time for the drag radials...or slicks.

89turboed do you have any pics of your setup? You need to get some good tires and learn how to drive at the track with that extra power.

i am curious also. Its ok though, we all are working the bugs out our setups... I used to run mid 15s when the car ran like ass. It still runs like ass but im pulling mid-high 13s now... Now for some 12 sec passes

Re: King of the Track - 1/4 mile times!

no i dont have an ongoing thread...i really don't have all that much time to get on the internet anymore. when i do i am looking for parts.

my motto is make it fast before pretty. so whats there to show?
i am not at the pretty point yet...

you guy's have to understand that at pmi track grooming is not on thir list of have to do's, fixin the timing system every 10 passes is.
you have to run at least drag radials to get a desent 60' time.

the thing that i didn't think of was to put my drag radials off my ford on the accord. I didnt think they would bolt up (rims).

    they do.

i raced my friend who runs low 13's from a 10 mph roll and kept up with him, he didnt leave me nor did i leave him. so i know there is better than a 14 second run with traction.

    as for specs?
10.5-1 compression JE pistons .30 overbore, eagle H-beams,fully balanced.
garrett t3, fmic, msd 6al btm, mallory fmu, mallory coil, full 3" exhaust, log turbo manifold, greddy boost controller, safc.

    everything else is stock.
ooh! she run's great and she is emission legal.

sorry i had to throw that in. lol.

Re: King of the Track - 1/4 mile times!

    at the track i ran 9.1 #'s
i have played with it at 12 and 14#'s on the street.
i have been running around since late spring, with a little down time here and there.
the next stage i want to run 18 to 20 if the head holds together. In the long run I have another 2 - 3 grand in engine work and mods to get were i want to be.
By next summer i am hoping to skip 14's 13's...with full interrior and stereo system.(i am too lazy to pull the box out...)

cool... hopefully it holds together at 20 pounds, but at least u know the engine needs reworked to do that shit! i cant even imagine how fast a built a20 running 20psi that can actually hook up would go... loooooooow 12s at least i think
