    FS - Manual Steering Rack

Yep, the real thing - straight from Canada, eh? A used manual steering rack. One of the guys on the board kindly shipped it to me way back and it's sat on my shelf ever since.

I'll send it to someone for $90 shipped.

Will it work in an 88-89 model? Just curious!

I may be interested in it if you could email me some pictures i would appreciate it. Another member may have found brand new manual racks sold at a local parts store. Send pictures to [email protected].

If Mike dont want it and i see pictures then i will call dibbs on it.

nah, Steve, you can take my spot. Your car is closer to done than mine is anyway.

PS> Yeah, Rob you can get a rebuilt one here at Autozone, PepBoys, or Advance Auto, but they get 3 and change for 'em.

oops, I just re-read what I typed... sorry, man, I didn't mean to sound like I was telling you to go buy one from autozone, etc. I just meant to tell everyone that I called them up and they do have them, and they're just over $300 rebuilt.

No i knew about them but i prefer an actual honda one. Im a little leary on what they have being that we never had them in the US for the accord. If i knew for sure it was a direct factory fit i would buy new but im doubtful of how well it fits and i dont feel like having to modify anything with the steering.

I wanted to sell some manual racks for you guys but the guy at the junkyard told me that the rear Cross member is different between the manual and power steering rack cars.

This means you will have to modify the Crossmember (if possible) or get a Canadian 86-87 Hatchback cross member with manual rack...

I didnt want to hear that carotman. I was trying to keep my p/s but it looked like it would have been cheaper and easier to convert but i dont know what its gonna take to get it in properly.

Pic of the Manual rack. I've PMed Mike ( ‹^› ‹(•¿•)› ‹^› ) to ask if he was calling first dibs with his initial post to the board. If not, then RobT5580 has first.
