    Parting out an 89 EXi

Hey guys, I posted a while back about an 89Exi I was considering fixing....well I'm not......so list what you want off it and how much you are offering, I'll let you know if the part is good, take pictures etc.

And we can go from there.

    Car is black.

Hood is in good shape, seats are in great shape (plastic recliner covers are broken tho)....basically all the interior is in great shape.

The power windows work, all the power addons work. The engine runs fine, but the block is puffing white.

The ac was converted to R134A, but doesnt seem to work...I found oil on the compressor, so I assume its damaged and thats why the electric clutch isnt engaging.

    Lemme know.

    Im in Ottawa On

Yes its a 5 speed....mind you I donno if I wanna go through the trouble of taking off the tranny etc just to get you a few bolts

If I sell off other parts in that area, I'll hook you up.

    ANyone need a tranny

Worked fine when I drove the car, except for the fact that the clutch slips like butter.

Car has 192 k KM BTW

yeah that's cool. I completely agree with you on that one. I definitly would not want to pull everything apart for those 8 little bolts. Like you said, if the tranny, etc. goes, then I'll take the bolts off your hands, if not, there's plenty of other places to look.

    Thanks man!

AH makes more sense now....will check.

The Exi came equipped with rear drums BTW.

I'll check what you need for a tranny change.

You dont want the tranny I gather from your previous post?

    =============EDIT============

I couldnt find what you talked about in the howtos??

From memory, for the 5 speed swap you'll need:

Shifter, shiftlinkage, possibly the plastic shifter console, clutch pedal assembly, clutch cable, transmission mount, possibly a 5 speed flywheel (unsure if they are different on the accord...thye are on the civic), I dont think I'm missing anything.

You'll need to do a slight bit of wiring for the clutch switch and will have to make sure your car is in PARK when you take the tranny out sicne the ECU will need to "think" its in park to allow you to start the car in the future.
