Depends what kind of driving you do. If you do alot of crusing at 45-50 you may want the teg 5th, but if your on the highway the accord 5th is the way to go.

IMO I would go with the accord 5th because I am on the highway going around my city a lot. I heard that the teg 5th is like the accord 4th but I might be wrong on that...I guess if you do a lot of highway driving go with the accord 5th. I guess its all in preferance..

Go with the Accord fifth unless all you plan to do is race. You'll keep your gas mileage (and less engine wear) when you're on the highway.

heck, if your only doing 1/4 mile, i doubt you'll need to use 5th gear much, unless the teg ratios are hella tight.

i'd get rid of the accord 5th gear. it really sucks unless you're just cruising at a constant speed. acceleration really sucks. there is no power in that gear.

You swap the entire gearset inside the Teg tranny into the Accord's gearbox. They line up perfectly. The Integra has a MUCH sportier gearset than the Accords. The reason for the debate on the fifth gear is b/c the Teg's fifth is similar to our fourth gear. Depending on what you want, choose the fifth that's best for you.

The teg gears arn't that tight. 7000rpm is 80ish in 3rd on the teg trans on stock sized tires. 4th is good atleast up to 110. I've never pushed my car over that due to crappy wobbly tires and no desire for speeding tickes.

well guys thanks for all the replies.i tore down both the trans's tonight and found the teg fifth gears wear mashed together but i couldn't find any signs of any more damage. the fifth gears in the accord are good so i guess i'm gonna be using that gear, and what it sounds like thats what i want anyway.most of my driving is above 50 to and from work.no i'm not doing the limited slip.i really can't afford it right now.i probably would have but i had to do this because my trans took a dump after 3 weeks in the car!so i get my teg trans ahead of schedule!oh yea before she cuts my head off and stops feeding me thank you to my girlfriend for buying the trans for me!anyway all the bearings look to turn smoothly but it does need axle seals so i guess i'll be ordering those.thanks again for your help!

how is that mean? i just ment if he was going to just do 1/4 mile races then accords don't usually get up high enough to have to shift into 5th. if the accord is geared higher then it would be to his advantage to use it cause of the way it would save gas at highway speeds. plus, its pritty simple to downshift to 4th if you need more power.

I don't know about you, but I don't do a lot of accelerating in 5th anyway. It will be weaker than a quick downshift regardless of which gear set you are using.
