my AC went out on my Accord....

When I replaced my power steering belt I found out my A/C is bad. So ya like $700 to fix it. I don't need A/C that bad so I won't worry about it. Sucks though. Having an older car like this things like to break or not work. Shit I don't need to deal with.....

Big deal Mike. It ain't the end of the world man. A/C is Definately OVERRATED. I haven't had the shit the past 4 summers, and it hits like mid 90's everday with a heat index of 100+ There's windows that go down and also a sunroof... Just givin ya shit man. Its just not that big of deal if you're a man and can handle it. Plus you gotta G-ride sittin next to it that's worth 5X as much. Pimp that shit man. LOL

My A/C went out a week or two ago and I just removed it all. Would have cost more to repair than I felt it was worth. Rolling down the windows and opening my sunroof isn't a big problem anyways!

Last summer, I was driving without AC and I managed to survive on days when it's 100 degrees or higher outside.

Mike, do you know exactly what's wrong with your AC? It turned out that my AC fuse took a crap and because of that, I thought of removing my AC, but it's a good thing I found out what was wrong. Good luck, man.

My A/C hasnt worked since Ive had my car (around 1 year and a half), Got to fooling around with going to upgrade it to the new 134 with a retro fit kit (Im an ASE certified A/C tech), come to find it out the damn high side line wasnt hooked up. Reattched the damn thing and started putting a charge to it and damned if the DRYER wasnt leaking. (When it rains it poors), so for the time being I have a 4-75 air conditioner (4 windows, 75 MPH or more )Dealt with it before aint no problem.

That seems steep to fix cause i priced a compressor a while back and thought it was like $350 or so. Our systems are pretty basic and not to hard to fix. Maybe if the evaporator is bad then i can the labor being so high but if its just a compressor and a re-fill it can be done much cheaper.

If you lived close by I'd think about it. Money isn't an issue here I just don't feel like spending money on something I rarely use....

Does anyone know why only hot air would come out of the vents when the a/c is on? Is it because cooling crap is empty or is it something else please help me out.

Probably because you ran out of refrigerant. Now is a good time to switch from the original type (r-12) to the new stuff (r-134).

Do you know how much it cost and do you have to have someone else do it for you or can you do it yourself?

You can do it yourself. It's not as hard as it seems. I think you can get the complete kit from Wal-Mart for under $30.
