How a 3g stacked up in the GRM $2003 challenge

Ok, for the last couple of years Grassroots Motorsports has this event they call the $2001, $2002, and $2003 challenge. The goal is to get a car, make it better and not spend more than $2003 doing it. You win or lose based on, lowest autocross time, quickest 1/4 mile time and concours points (car show in otherwords).

Somebody did up a 88 coupe (don't know if it was a LXI or not).

The thing that killed the car's chance to place high was it's 1/4mile time, 18.41sec. It didn't do well in the car show either (concours).

I thought it was interesting to see that the 3g's car's autocross time beat this list of cars. While it didn't really do well overall, (it placed 53rd out of 67 cars)

    1971 Datsun 240Z
    1990 Geo storm
    1992 Geo storm
    1983 Ford mustang
    1986 BMW 325e
    1986 VW jetta GLI
    1987 VW Scirocco
    1990 VW Golf GL
    1987 Chevy Cavalier Z24
1986 Toyota MR2 (no kidding on this one the 3g was 2 seconds faster, don't ask me)
    1985 Merkur XR4Ti
    1987 BMW 325
    1973 Datsun 240Z
    1980 Mazda RX-7 GS
    1985 Audi 4000S
    1986 Merkur XR4Ti
    1984 Dodge omni GLH
1994 Chevy caprice police package (ha ha, ...still don't run guys)
1969 Datsun 510 (better car than you'd think)
    1988 Merkur XR4Ti
    1983 BMW 320i
    1978 Datsun 280Z
    1987 Ford Mustang

BTW, the 3g coupe was from round rock Texas of CRC motorsports. Oh, they also did a auto to 5sp swap for the car.

I saw that issue...didn't the guy that owns that car post a video of the autocross section in the Racing Stories forum? I have it saved on my comp, and on the inside, it looks really rough (it's stripped and all). But the outside looks good with that blue racing stripe.

I dont really know much about autoX, but i would figure almost any accord would fair better in the autoX as opposed to drag racing.
