    Re: Official Colorado Meet!!!

Heyas... just thought I'd poke in here. I'm a 'new' local member, but I've had my car for about a year and a half. I'm definately interested in meeting up with some of you folks, since I really haven't been into doing anything except driving my 3G until a few weeks ago. I'm pretty much game for any Springs meets I have the time off to attend, but I'm hesitant to put too much mileage on my car until I get the T-belt replaced. Other than that, I'm glad to be here... hehe.

Edit: And as far as J/Y meets go, just want to put a little find in here. Best Foreign(I think that's what it is) here in the Springs has two auto SEi's hanging around, both of 'em with the rear discs intact. One coupe, one four-door, with the front discs missing on the coupe. One caveat, though... they won't let you pull the parts yourself, so that means those discs probably will be pretty expensive. As far as interior stuff goes... leather on both cars are pretty much shot. As far as the discs went... I wish I could grab 'em, but they're probably out of my budget right now, I'm still on the 13" steels, and prolly won't get to the rear disc conversion ofr a long time yet... hope the info helps!

Hello every body! I did find a 89 SEi with the rear brakes complete. If somebody wants it let me know otherwise I'll take the proportioning valve and something else out off it. The junkyard is located at Peoria and 33th, south of I-70. The rest off the car is garbage.

Sorry for the misunterstanding, what I meant is if somebody is interested in have the rear brake setup I won't touch it and I will leave it complete for anyone to take the full setup; otherwise I can feel free to take some spare parts. Thats why I said where the yard is located.

    Re: Official Colorado Meet!!!

head work was about $260 at Geddes Auto Machine. (the guys who do all the engines for JEG's NHRA cars.)

milled 0.035". My engine is now 10.3:1
I decided to not go 0.040" just in case, especially since i don't have adjustable cam gears. no problems though. no knocking or anything.

all the other stuff was probably a total of $200 (rings, gasket set, misc parts)

runs super smooth. can't wait until it's all broken in!

Here's a couple pics of the head. I didn't take many pictures cuz I was in a hurry when I put it all back together, and most of the pics came out blurry... oh well.

well so far so good. i can feel it as all the parts break in and seat. found out the problem with the cooling system was a broken thermo switch. >(

    i'll be replacing that tomorrow.

oh, and the huge leak was from a hose that didn't have a friggin clamp on it. all that's changed now. (one would hope anyway)

    Re: Official Colorado Meet!!!

that sucks. i know how that is. when I first got the lude, I took it to Bandi one night just to see what it would do. Every time I ran, I got about 0.1 seconds slower... I knew something wasn't right...

That was just before the engine almost blew.

The same thing was sort of happening with the B20A. Sometimes it just felt sluggish, like I was loaded down with cargo, and occasionally it would feel good. But it was consistently a little slower either way.

Mother of God, 1000 miles never went by so slow, I swear...

It's like the meaning of my life is there, 1000 miles away, and I can only get there so fast... I'd walk every footstep if that's what it took.

...am I obsessed? Do I need help? lol

    Re: Official Colorado Meet!!!

well, i'm in the same boat as Halxi.... sometimes it feels like i'm driving my old VW fox again....

not to mention the little problems that it has, but i've been driving around with a bad O2 sensor for the last 6 months.... so i got it replaced, but i doubt that will take any of my problems away

When i can i'm gonna ditch the 3g, or i'm going to bring in a DSM to make as a project.

    Re: Official Colorado Meet!!!

man, an rx7 would be kick ass, but the reliability of them is terrible... and rotary engine's from what i hear don't last as long as the average engine.

my friend had one, it was fast as hell, but it caught fire on him and burned up all the wiring. Be prepared to put some $$$ into it.
