Think about it, with your pinch fork you'll destroy the ball joint plastic boot and will have to fight to take the bolt joint out, I learned the hard way long ago.I'm just trying to save some swet.

is the pitman arm puller expensive?
Is it something i can just go to checker and pick up?

keep us updated matt.
Friday morning im going to start tearing my knuckle apart, then i just need to get the hole in my header plugged, and everythings good to go. Cant wait to actually have my car run right again! Its been so long that ive forgot how it feels lol.
Also, my PS pump is going out. It wont hold fluid even when its on the lower line, burps it all out of the resivor, the pump squeals, and overall the PS just doesnt work that great anymore... so i may pull all a/c and p/s components before the meet. I dont have money to buy a new PS pump, nor does my dad. So im gonna be drivin it without it for awhile... o well, it will be a decent workout lol.
Try it with 4 wheel steering...Originally Posted by halxi

Anyway, the ball joints have to be pressed out anyway. I don't see how a pickle fork could be any worse. Yeah, you'll probably tear the boot, but boots are cheap and his probably need to be replaced anyway, if they've never been touched.
But hey, if a 2-arm or 3-arm puller had actually worked for me, I'd be all for it. Unfortunately, the only thing that ever worked was that pickle fork.

we used a pickle fork on both my lower ball joints when we changed my tranny, both my lower ball joints are still doin just fine... both my uppers are a different story haha
Ok guys, looks like i'll be there
Those Prelude control arms really worked! I can't thank you enough for the idea!
anyway, i only put one in so far lol. I adjusted the camber to be as negative as possible, and it looks to have straightened it out almost perfectly (a bit negative, but it's better than WAY positive)
and yes, my ball joints were totally shot. the boot was torn all the way around the ball joint, and it was full of dirt and nasty stuff. The new arms are in much much better condition
looks like i just have to track down that damn coolant leak that's been causing idle problems now :/

Mine is a 97 with 235hp and yes is quick, at the same time doesn't get to much atention from cops because is a family car.![]()
I'll be there. Depending on its status, I might be bringing the GT-Four, since it _might_ be working at that point, and it badly needs use(car's only been driven 20K since 1996), but it's more likely I'm bringing the LX. That reminds me, getting it washed is definately a priority. So... meeting up at 1:00 PM, January 2, at the Hooters off of Woodmen and I25?

well, nevermind guys, i won't be there.
I just got screwed for hours and now i can't get the alignment, boots, ball joints fixed/replaced. Not to mention the gas it will take to get there.
Have a good time!

Definately welcome... you see a few MK3s around here, but most of them are pretty beat-up... and I've never even heard of one with that kind of mileage on it. It'd be a lovely car to get into, obvously... but I'm keeping my eye out for an N/A with sport package... I already have enough CT26 issues.Originally Posted by 87AccordsterLx
Anyways... I'll definately be at the meet, and prolly with a washed car. More than likely the LX, but it's real tempting to bring the Celica along if it's working right.
