    A20A3 and BT1

I know that this is highly frowned upon, but I might have to. I have my 89 SE-i with a very probelmatic engine, and my 86 EX-i with an awesome engine and un-drivable body. Since I have very little money, I might try to get the BT1 from the EX-i put in the SE-i. So, this will be removing the A20A3, replacing it with the BT1, and LOSING 10 hp. But that's better than having an engine that blows oil everywhere.

Does anybody know if I can just swap the block? Does it all bolt up the same? Or do I have to change the intake manifold and sensors and everything else?

I know that this would be a very uncommon thing to do, but I just thought someone may have had to do it in the past. I also know that it would be better to do a B-series swap. I'd love to. But speed costs $$$.

Pls feel free to move this into technical if it would be better there.

    Thanks in advance.

Perfection is simply a matter of replacing parts.

It's not an uncommon thing to do. If you have a good BT1 engine, just swap it in your SE-i.

You will need to change the intake and exhaust manifold (and sensors) from your A20A3 to the BT1.

Thanks, carotman. I haven't mucked around with sensors very much, and the two setups have some different looking equipment. Do you know of any place I can get more info for this swap? Will I need to change ECUs too?
