Only the pacesetter one and the muffler on it is crap I would suggest having a muffler shop make you a 2.25 inch catback with your muffler of choice personally I like dynomax super turbo mufflers. Or you can do what I did and buy the pacesetter and remove the muffler and attach a new one.

I got mine from www.nopionline.com and don't take offence to the people who rip on noobies also try the search button at the top of the page before you ask more questions it may save you some time.

it would fit but the amount of money you would spend on a universal muffler and installation (almost definately including welding) would be almost as much as a decent priced cat-back. I had a friend put a universal on his saturn (the cheap POS) and it cost him over $250 to drive away. For that much you can get a cat-back and have it installed!

Also, as 1988started said, mufflers are supposed to make a car quieter. The pacesetter (aka Monza) is not loud but it is NOT quiet. It's just not FRIGGIN VRRROOOOOM! it'll still make noise, though. My friends say they can hear me coming down the street from the basement! (I have a cat too)

just buy the pacesetter exhaust for $150 at ptuning.com...

I love the sound of my car with that exhaust, I even have people ask if my cars got a v6 or even a v8 sometimes, just cause of the sound... A nice deep rumble... none of that dirt bike like grinding sound alot of import mufflers produce...

real easy to put in yourself... just bolts right on.
    87 hatch (stolen)

88 lxi 4dr, 5spd, threw a rod... in process of swapping engine from my 87 hatch (police recovered what was left of the car).

the fucker that sold me the 88 is lucky he lives 500 miles from me...

The pacesetter cat-back doesn't make power. When Grassroot's motorsports did a test and used a car very simular to ours to test some catbacks and some custom one's created at a muffler shop using mufflers. The pacesetter was in the very last place with the least hp gain. Number 2 was a dynomax super turbo, and it didn't even have mandrel bends. Number one was a thermal research muffler on a custom catback, it was only like .2hp higher. Don't buy the pacesetter for power, if you want power slice it's muffler off and have your favorite muffler welded on instead.

I paid $156 total for parts and labor to have a custom catback created using a Dynomax super turbo mufffler. (Actually I kept the stock resonator, so it was really a resonator back system. If I did it over again, I would have installed a straight through glass pack instead of using the stock resonator).
H&R springs revalved Bilstein front struts, koni struts in the rear 195/55-15 Dunlop W-10's Dc Sports header custom cat-back with Dynomax super turbo w/3" Brembo slotted & dimpled rotor's EBC pads
Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.

    Now I d

same here but i had no muffler or resonator and just a ghetto manza dual tip installed and it sounds awesome. I had this done before i knew that it was a ghetto way to go, but IMO it sounds good. Not too loud and it has a nice deep tone. Gets kinda loud in the car at cruising speeds though. But pretty much any exhaust other then stock will do that.
