    Horsepower

O.K. I just looked at Pauls website and it said that the A20A3 (LX-i) engine is stock 120 hp. Is this true? It sounds a little too high, because I thought the SE-i came with 120 hp stock? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. But if the A20A3 came with 120 stock hp, then most of us 3geez are shooting out probably 150 hp with our modifications, which is quite well for an older 4 banger.

So, then the SE-i had to have come with maybe 130 hp. right?

Also, the A20A1 had 98 hp, so I take the Fuel injection is by far more powerful being ahead by 22 hp according to the specifications. All I can say is, I'm glad I don't have Carb!

86-89 carbed had 98hp. 86-87 FI had 110hp. 88-89 had 120hp. i drove an '88 LX-i, but it felt like it had less hp than my carbed engine. what the hell is with that?

Dude the SE-I still had the A20A3 or A20A4 same as the LX-I's... the only difference is that the SE-I had leather inerior and other luxury accessories.

and 120 HP might be Crank HP and not Wheel HP

or maybe this myth is true. the carbed engine feels like it has more power. thats wut ive been told a few times. and this is weird, that car sounds better than mine. so that led my to thinking its running better. the guy drives it all the time and its quiet like a new honda engine. anyway, mine needs a tune up. but, it runs pretty strong.

The good thing about carb is it isn't controlled with the ecu I don't think. The FI is, which doesn't let the owner adjust shit as well as the carb. The ecu won't adjust a person's tinkering around with the engine, which makes carb better to some people.

the 86-89 lxi accord fuel injected all came with a stock rating of 119 horses...

my hatchback has a custom cool air intake and pace setter exhaust... I would estimate that I am getting around 140 horses, she runs a 15.5 quarter mile at 90 mph.

Please feel free to read the board... the earlier 86 had only 110.

As for the other things in life... the lack of pain sensing nerves in the human ass seems to account for the large number of HP exaggerations when using the "Butt Dyno".

I'm not sure where your getting your info, but I know for a fact that all of the fuel injected lxi accord from 86-89 produce 119 stock horses...

maybe your thinking of a different type

and what makes you think I am exaggerating, an estimate is just an estimate, and according to the rating of the products I bought, they should be giving me at least an extra 20 horses... and the ratings i used were not the ratings from the company(let's face it companies lie), but from an outside source.
    87 hatch (stolen)

88 lxi 4dr, 5spd, threw a rod... in process of swapping engine from my 87 hatch (police recovered what was left of the car).

the fucker that sold me the 88 is lucky he lives 500 miles from me...

    86 87 dx lx = 98hp
    86 87 lxi = 112hp?

    88 89 dx lx = 98hp
    88 89 lxi sei = 120hp

88 89 accord did came with 120hp stock, that was alot of HP back in the days, lol... remember you will lose 15%-20% hp from the engine, tranny, axle then to the wheel.

I think you know your wrong and your just playing games.

Game players don't survive for long on this board.

Fly straight our your going to clip your own wings.

Don't play innocent and wronged, this 119hp business and your 15.5 sec 1/4 mile fantasies reveal your game, a game we don't play.

Want to continue the 119lhp line, prove it, but that's a deal killer for you, cause you can't. Just like I can't prove all 4th gen's make 129hp.

the reason you feel so many differances in our cars is because..THEY ARE OLD>>>over time they are going to lose power...you can go and drive a carb car that has been well maintained and runs great...but you can take a F.I. car that has been neglected and it will run like crap...same goes for any car

I've read on a lot of websides that the LXi came with 122whp. I'm thinking that that is actually at the crank. I know hondaswap.com listed that spec, but i know that they are more wrong then right when stating specs.

My sister has a 2g accord and everytime i drove it it felt like it had more getupandgo and pulled harder then my 88 did. I dont think it would win in a drag against my car, but it felt like it.
