He cut my #@!$%&* air suction tube....

I took my car to an exhaust shop to have my Pacesetter header installed and have a piece of flexpipe welded on so everything would be nice and pretty and not break. Well I go to pick up my car, and he gives me his sob story about how it took him over 4 hours to install it and put everything together yada yada, anyways, I pop the hood and he gives me the "Oh and by the way...." yeah he said he had to cut the tube cuz it didn't line up right, ooh I was pissed to say the least. That @$$hole had my number and everything, could've called and asked me what I wanted him to do, but no he just goes and hacks away. Well that was about two weeks ago, and I'm still pissed but there's not much I can do now. I managed to plug the tube coming off the header (don't ask how, it's not for the faint hearted), but I still have the other half that runs up above the intake, sitting there wide open. Will this cause me any problems having it open like that? I have the Civic CAI adapter, so the vaccum lines are capped, so that Air Suction Tube shouldn't be suctioning should it? If I didn't have the adapter on I think I would be in a whole world of hurt. Anyhoo, will having that tube open like that be a problem? From what I have been able to find, I think it means that I will not pass emissions when the time comes right? Fortunately that is a ways off. Should I just leave it as-is, or find some way to connect the two peices that were once one? The EGR tube is still connected, just the Air Suction Tube was cut.

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

does the Pacesetter have holes for the EGR and air suction hookup? I thought that was a no. Its also worthless if the controlling diagphrams are capped so dont worry about it unless you plan on going back to stock everything for emission testing.

    Sorry to hear that man
That's why I do all the work myself.
You can try to weld the air suction tube off at the header now that there is no use for it or take the whole damn thing out.
I think you still should be able to pass emissions with out the air injection system.

Yeah, but I guess the point he may be trying to convey is why they did not call him before so he could make that decision. Pre-warning is a good thing. What I have done is when I have them perform work, if ever, when I sign the car in, I write,"This signature does not imply any written consent in performing other work than was originally agreed on". I got that from dateline years ago. Mkae sure they understand that, or they will perform uneeded labor and/or damages without you even knowing. Hey man, its your right. For more info, check out your state attorney generals website, mine has a pamplet with great info as well.
