    weird idle glitch

ok... my car has been doing this since I got it over two years ago... you know when the car is first warming up and you have the idle running high? well... after a couple minutes of running like that, the idle starts jumping back and forth between 1000 rpm and about 2200 rpm... this last for up to ten minutes, whenever I'm idling.

also, even after this stops, the car sometimes will kind of stick at around 2200 rpm when i am just sittin with the clutch in...

anybody that know how to fix this

Possibly it could be the fast-idle valve.

    Try this

Check your butterfly plates in your throttle body. If one is not seated right and/or dirty, your car could be trying to compensate at idle for the stuck plate. If you do not want to try to fix your throttle plates, then maybe go to your local junkyard and see if you can find a used throttle body. Clean it up really good and make sure that all the channels and holes in the body are clean. Get a can of compressed air normally used for cleaning electronics and get a can of carb/throttle cleaner. Spray the cleaner in the holes and then spray the air behind the cleaner. That should clean out all the little holes in the throttle body.

Well, when i had this problem, all i did was clean and adjust the fast idle valve, and adjust the idle screw on the throttle body. Get the manual that is available in the FAQ and pull up the page on idle speed adjustment.

alright guys... thanks for the help... it seems that my fast idle control is going out... I might just remove the sucker completely and see what happens.

also... I don't seem to have the butterfly plates... uhm... what does that mean???
