88 accord lxi sedan auto Do i buy?

hey whats up guys i missed this awesome forum. but know one really knows me but i had a accord i bought back in sept. that i had for like 6 months and what a great car, then i sold it to a friend and he just beat the shyt to hell, so now im carless because my last car i totaled, and my uncle picked up a 88 lxi sedan, and im not sure if its worth it.

miles are 184,000 im not sure if its worth it with these miles but here are the things that were just done to it:

    tune up
    both back ball joints
    new tires
    alternator
    inspected till jan of 04

the interior and exterior look mint and the engine looks pretty clean. but im scared of the miles and the tachometer does this weird thing it like when u hit the gas it like jumps sparadically, and the auto tranny when hold brake moving through some of the gears makes a weird grinding noise. and the last problem is it needs a oil pan gasket. other than that the car is mint but the miles are really whats scaring me. so guys tell me what you think id like to be back in this awesome forum lata ppl tom:super:

my spedo did that ....no biggie.....how much is he asking for it ? i wouldnt be too worried about the milage.... as long as it was takin care of .... my 93 civic has 225000 on it and it runs like its new. ... i would do it .... dont forget if you buy it you still have to get it inspected again even if it has a good sticker on it ....

well just great. this honda is not what i expected, theres a oil leak after you drive it, its like the size of a basketball or more and in a couple spots, only oil, the front what do you think is it struts or shocks, im not sure but there shot, and last but not least the tranny is a little tough gettin into 4th is it common for these cars to be a little hard at shiftin and i couldnt find the tranny dipstick. well tommorow im going to find out where the oil leak is exactly all i know is that he changed it on jacks so he probly wrinkled the gasket hopefully please help i need to make this my daily car soon.

nah you dont need to get it inspected again. I never had a problem with that. And Ive been pulled over many times... But if it runs good, than I would get it. 700 bucks is pretty cheap too.

oh looks like you got it. the tranny dipstick is on the tranny, you have to unscrew it though, it's not like one that you just pull out. My sister has a 3g and it shifts very hard, but mine shifts way better. she has like 201,000 miles on hers though. good luck.

Automatic honda transmissions are 100 times more fragile than a manual.
