"check engine" was on now off

well the other day sparatically the check engine light came on in my car (i didnt have time to check the ecu then) but i did unplug the battery for about 5 min. With that no luck it was still on when i started the car again. the next day however it disappeared, i know there is probably something wrong or it never would have gone on in the first place, does anyone know what can cause a on and then day later off check engine light? (i was thinking o2 sensor? i have no idea)

Well the ecu code should still be there unless you unplugged the battery again. Could be an o2 sensor I know mine is bad and usually goes off when I run for a bit at 45mph+. But the ecu reading should still be there even if the check engine light isn't on.

Turn the car on and look under the driver seat there is a plastic hatch flip it down and see if the ecu blinks
