you really need to look at all the threads in the engine swap section... the starter and the alternator are the same on your car... the water pump is the same as the b20a5 prelude... i can price you one and ship it with if you want... GMB 35.00

I have an 87 Prelude Si and have been looking into this swap for a while. This forum seems to have the most information on motors and swaps that I've seen for my car or at least the motor in it.
Is it a gold valve cover or a black without the paint? . I have read quite a few of the threads on here and haven't been able to figure out what the difference is yet other than that the black is newer style.

with the O2 sensors welded shut, does that mean I need another exhaust manifold or header to have them, and which after market header will work?
By using the integra distributer, I don't need the JDM ECU, right?
Does that mean every thing just plugs in or do I need to do some splicing for that distributer?
What about the rear tranny mount being different that I read about? Does it come with that? Do you think the prelude is different than the accord?
that motor wont fit in your prelude. The JDM Accord B20a is different then the prelude one. Mounts are different.

I have the second generation prelude with the A20A3. The last motor I put in it 5 years ago was from an 89 accord LXi and was exactly the same I just don't know about the rear torque (tranny)mount.
I'm wondering if that rear mount that is different between JDM B20A and the USDM accord is the same on the USDM prelude?
silver... i think if you look through the engine swap section you will probably find all the info you need... i am unsure if it will fit in your car because it just barely fit in mine... i know the hood bevels up in the middle on my accord but i think it sinks in a little on a prelude. the exhaust thing *sigh* my accord has the dual O2 sensors so i had to seperate the exhaust in to 2 channels for the o2 sensors to work correctly... the downpipe on my car is like a Y pipe and all i had to do was hog out the holes on the sides and it fit... then i just plumbed in some o2 bungs and away i went
The b20a should fit into any 84-87 prelude as that car utilizes the same engine as the 3g Accord. As such, there should be no problem.

The issue about the hood clearence would be the only difference that I could think of. But didn't the motor come out of a JDM prelude? So it would go to reason that it should fit.
