    Weight reduction

what are some of the heaviest crap on our cars that we could remove? look at my sig i have already removed the A/C, Cruise control, and all emissions crap. i need to know what else i could remove to lose some more pounds.

I head of cutting the spare tire thing in the trunk out but how much weight would that lose?

    thanx

Well how much do you weigh? I usually tell people if they still want weight reduction after the usual a/c and power steering removal to go on a diet and lose some weight that way (everyone wins that way, b/c it reduces weight and is very healthy) But if you're not over weight at all don't diet b/c we don't need ya turning into one of those bulimic people that hurls after every m&m. Do you have all your seats removed? (except for drivers seat)

I'm 150 and I'm 6' tall... thank you Jerred. :lol

Anyways if you don't plan on over heating you can remove the resivoir for the radiator fluid. Just make sure you have a good radiator cap. This is more to free up space and dump the extra fluid.

find a manual steering rack from canada so you can dump the manual rack and lines/pump and all that shit. Not turning that stupid pump anyways frees up some power. I was thinking about torching my trunk too... bye bye tire well... Oh you know what i almost forgot, our mirrors weigh like 10 lbs a pair (pick them up their not exactly featherweight) and if you were to put on some aftermarket ones somehow, i saw it done on a civic once, the guy made a plate to fit where the old mirrors were and he put some kind of universal mirror on it. Also did you remove the a/c compressor and bracket? Its a pain but it weighs like 25
lbs or so. Also there is a receiver/dryer bottle near your ps fluid reservoir for your ac (under it, closer to the headlight) and that weighs not much but you dont need it... Also if you dont have ac you dont need the condensor fan, just pull the relay and fan fuse as well as the fan itself on the back of your radiator (its on the side nearest to the belts) oh ya ditch all the stuff in ur car you dont need.

get rid of the entire stock air box assembly....replace it with light aluminum short ram..which is even lighter then CAI...but less power...

the air box ain't that heavy...but you could trim the edges and expose a K&N filter...

Thats it... leave it at that, more small stuff are not going to make a noticable difference.

Heater core/ A/C blower / Dash / door pannels / Interior Trim / Stereo speakers / power window motors / headlight motors / Exterior trim / bumper foam rear-front /

the heat shield is low CG weight... it's good to have more weight near the floor that serves a function. but yeah get rid of the under carpet stuff.
