do you know what offset the wheels are?

It really comes down to that. I've got a +38 offset on my 15's and I'm running 205/50/15's and have just a touch of rub in the back. (However, take note that I'm some 3+" closer to the ground from stock height.

PS> The proper plus size for the 3G on 15's is 205/50/15 or 195/55/15. That's honestly what I'd go with to keep as close to the stock diameter.

Any major reason why you want the 215 as opposed to the 205?

PSS> That 4G you've got in the sig is mint!

    thanks, I have own both a '90 coupe and a '87 LXi

I want to get wider tires on my 15's (factory integra GSR's) so they will be nice for both cars. 215's fit on my '90, and i was hoping theyd fit my '87 as well.

they are 15x6" factory acura wheels...i'm not sure of their offset

and my '87 is not lowered

Hmm..... I have a set of the GSR fat fives on my 3G as well. I think that those are +40 or +42mm offset. That, on a stock height 3G might fit alright with 215's, but don't bother.

However, if those wheels are real GSR wheels, then their bolt pattern is 4x100 only. The 3G does use that same bolt pattern, however, the 4G uses 4x114. So the GSR's won't fit on ur 4G. Given all that, I'd stick with the 205/50's.

PS> I know from experience that those wheels look real good on the 3G. :super:

I have 215/45 17's with a 1.5 inch drop and they don't rub. I had to roll the fenders in order for them to fit though.

yeah it's gonna come down to the offsett, I also have 215-40-17 and my offset was about 40mm and I have spacers that made it seem 5mm more, they actually set out wider, but because of the spacers the offset seems to be about 45mm, I rub only because I'm so wide and I hit the outter lip of the fenders.

With a 5mm spacer, that would actually bring your offset the other way. So now it's more or less like 35mm.

Or if you're in the West, come to the Oregon/Washington meet

And you should really drop both cars...the lines on both of them were meant for lowering!!! Nice '90, though man...looks clean!

EDIT: Guess the '90 is dropped...my bad!

im a lil late 4 this thread but here is what i learnt from our suspension god Jim. i asked him the same qusetion and this was his reply

"I dunno, 215/50-15 worries me. You can only attemp such a width with a 45mm offset. We do have a couple of guys running 205/50-15's on teg rims that have 45mm offset. Part of what worries me is it's really rare to find 15" rims that are 7" wide, which is the rim width you really want to have with 215 widths and with 215/50 being taller, that places the tire closer to the fender lips all by itself, irrespective of how wide they are. I'd stick with 205/50 if I were you, lot's of excellent tires in that size. Or go with 16" and run 215/40"

Considering the price, the unnecessary headache of the wheel rubbing and the price of the rim and the tires i figured why would i want that? i aint running a monstor motor to run 215s to be sticky and 205 would be prefect enough with lotta grip than our 185s.

PS. A friend of mine who has a 91 Jetta with the wheel specs as same as ours ran 215 and its rubbing his fenders in the front and he is gonna sell it to get the reg 205s. IMO, its a smart move.
