Control Boxes under passenger Seat??

I have an automatic 88 Lxi. What are the control boxes under the passenger seat for? I had this car stored in a garage, and it flooded. Anyway it wont run now and I am getting a new ECU to start with but have no idea what the two boxes under the passenger side are for.

One in the fan control module (closer to the shifter), and the other is the power door lock control unit. Hope it goes well when you change the ecu!
