I have recently changed the timing belt with the rest of the belts. And then I did the plugs as well. THe car will not turn over or even hint that it wants to start. What gives? Any ideas? Could I have messed up the timing? or is it something else? I know you guys can't tell realing accurate without seeing the car, but I am looking for ideas. Thanks

If your timing was out it would still turn over!
You dont have power to your starter. The battery is dead or there is a broken wire or you forgot to hook it back up or a ground wire broke....
Make sure there is power to the starter....then make sure the starter works and then we will go from there..

The car has power and it will turn over and over but will not fire up and start?
Thinkin you may have your timing off. If your getting spark then more than likely thats what happened you ended up off when you put your timing belt back on. Least thats what I figure happened

what leads are you talking about? How can I line up the timing if it is off?

leads = plug wires! check there first if you have fire at the plugs
how do i go about checking the fire at the plugs. i can guess on how to do it but tell so that i do it right.
i was referring to the correct order of the plug leads.
Are they on in the right order?
should be? I put them back the way the chilfton book shows? Do you have a proper diagram? What else can I do?
remember the cylinders go 4321 so check the rotor for marks and numbers
if you think you have the leads on right, i would suggest that you recheck the timing.......bring the engine up to TDC, ( check timing marks on flywheel), then take dissy cap off and check rotor is pointing to No1 terminal on cap
so bring the engine to tdc and then check that the distributor rotor is pointing to the Number 1 cyclinder? What about the other parts of the timing. How do I tell if the bottom crankshaft is lined up with the tdc at the camshaft?

Just turn the crank until you see the big "T" on the flywheel line up with the stationary timing mark through the timing observation window. If the cam is aligned right the rotor in the dist will be pointing to the #1 cap point. If pointing elsewhere then its off. At that point you wanna take off the valve cover and inspect the orientation of the cam gear marks and "UP" arm.

Not yet because I have been very frustrated with this whole thing! I still have to try and figure it out. When I finished the timing belt change I thought Ilined everything up, but I will have to go at it again. The car is not my daily driver so I really don't care when I get it back up and running. Does anyone want it? It just go repaint in midnight blue.
