When shifting while in d4 from first to second the car makes this quiet grinding or not catching the gear noise from first to second! Any ideas on what it is? And how much is a new or used tranny cause i can go to the junkyard and get a engine and tranny for 100 bones?

I had the same problem from 1st it made a bumpy knocking noise...then my 3rd made a winding noise it sounded like my tires were rubbing agaisnt the fender walls.... does white smoke arise from the header area ...? Its most likely your tranS....
I did mine for 500$ with good condition tranny and with labor cost....
