I am interested but i was gonna look into buying an AEM kit to match the AEM big brake kit i bought for the front. The kit i bought was very basic and i was thinking of having it duplicated (the brackets that is) but i dont want to have to worry about if they were to break from not being strong enough and what not. Let me know what you do. Rob
Yea I feel the same as Rob. I WILL be purchasing the big brake front kit, can you do something with that? I would definitely be interested when some money is freed up.

Hey, when I ran searches on AEM big brake kit's on several big honda forums (in advance of installing one on what ever honda or acura I've been thinking about), allot of AEM big brake kit owners were extreamly unhappy with them. Most of the comments seamed to be centered around the quality of the rotor's. In fact the unhappy people far out numbered the happy one's. I figured that I could just buy brembo disk's to use with them, but that add's to the cost in deciding on doing it at all.
And Hybrid, hat's of to you for considering this and considering how much something like this cost's in the aftermarket, I'm equally amazed at your low pricing. Major props my man. I'd pay $200 in a heartbeat.![]()
Use some quality parts and I'll pay the $200 no prob!

Ya never know, if I get the G35 coupe (big if), I've allready thought about getting something in the $1-2k range to keep the miles off the new car. It would be either a 3g or a 92-95 civic, which ever I can find in decent condition at the right price, this is why I still have the rims and tire's from my 3g.Originally posted by A20A1

Well just so everyone knows what is going on I am starting to design a calliper mounting bracket and will be installing the first set on Bobafets car for testing. (As I already have SEi rears on mine). I purchased a G-Tech Pro last year to use in testing the stoping distances from 30 mph, 50, mph and 75mph. The numbers and weather conditions will be posted as soon as the prototype is installed on Chris's car and the tests are run (probably or hopelully in about a month) Then we will have a 6 month durrability test prior to the sale of the kits.
The kits will be based on factory Honda rotors and callipers for ease of finding replacement parts, with a bracket that mounts to the spindal to hold the calliper. The kits will most likely come in 2 configurations, just brackets for those that want to save some $ and purchase their own components, and the full bolt on kit. These pieces will be high quality, (I work at the Western Star / Freightliner Truck manufacturing Plant and am well versed in the manufacture of parts.

Please work your magic $200 is a great deal IMO.Hope to see it done keep us posted on updates with Chris's car.

When testing, do several stops in a row to see how much the rear disks reduce fade.

Thats probably why they just changed rotors on all their kits. Instead of the two piece alum hat type rotor they switched to a single piece rotor.
Jim:
I'm curious, What type of complaints did you hear?
I have a old Sport Compact Car mag somewhere where they installed a AEM big brake kit on a civic. If I remember right it only decreased the stopping distance by a few feet. I will try and find it somewhere and let you know exactly.
I am very interested in this mod.

200 bucks? for the whole thing... but not for just two brakets... i think 75 for the brakets and use our own shit like calipers and rotors and lines... what car are these parts commin from? the front of a civic would be cool... then you could get a AAEM big brake kit for the front of a civic and put it on the back of our car!
Travis

hes thinking of making an adapter for prelude brakes because they are closer to SEI setup, and if we buy parts/need it serviced we just say they are brakes from SEI!![]()
I should have the prototype brackets made with in the next 2 weeks.
