    An Exhaust Question

So here is my deal. I went out to a junk yard today and found an 89 LX-i 2 door. Now I was looking and noticed that it had a fairly new muffler and tail pipe. The muffler looked like a performance one, but I have to confess that I don't know much about mufflers. Anyway.... I was thinking about unbolting that at the cat and bolting it onto my car. So my question is, will it fit my 87 DX 4 door? My second question is it worth the $20?

I just called the parts dept. at South Tacoma Honda and they said that it should fit, but I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.

It will fit, make sure that the hangars are not damaged, if so then use the ones from the junkyard. $20 sounds like a steal.

if the hangers dont fit u can go to a muffler shop and have them weld on some new hangers for like $20..

when i got my cat put on today the guy threw on new hangers on my muffler since they are way stiffer than the old rubber ones, and it only costed $7.50

Cool. I'll look into it all. My question is this... This all sounds like a good deal. But is there anyway I can tell that the muffler is some that's really gonna help me out? Also I've heard that the stock pipe diameter is 1.75" is this correct? What pipe size should I be looking for?

if i were you, i wouldnt waste any money on a stock exhaust... get a DYNOMAX SUPER TURBO and a custom 2.25 inch catback...... if you shop around, you could get the pipe for 80-100 bucks and th emuffler is like 40 at www.summitracing.com

A buddy of mine wants to stick a Pacesetter exhaust system on his Accord, does anybody know if these setups are worth it?

NO! definetly not... get a custom 2.25 inch pipe made at a local shop with a muffler of choice... depending on your price range... get a bomb muffler.. they are real deep and look cool

Well, I get this all. But I don't have $100+ to drop on an exhaust system. So I thought for $20-25 it was a pretty good deal if it all checks out. Especially if it's a wider pipe.
